I'm not a cheerleader; I'm a realist. So lets be serious here. We aren't going to win Florida. 90-some-odd percent of the vote is in, and Kerry is still down by 4%. We aren't going to win it. Without Florida, we MUST have Ohio. Right now, near as I can tell, we aren't going to win Ohio.

I'm not a defeatist. I'm just looking at the numbers, and I don't see that we're going to win. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging reality. That's what we've been shouting at the American public to do for the last 4 years. Now it's time for us to do the same.

I'm a member of the reality-based community. And it's becoming pretty clear that we've lost this.

I'm not feeling sorry just for myself. I'm feeling sorry for all of us. For all of us who graduate this year, into this economy; for all of us who need healthcare; for all of us who support civil rights; for all of us who are old enough to draft; for all of us who have friends and family in the armed services; for all of us who have something to lose by Bush being elected.

America had a clear decision to make today. It's becoming more and more clear that America made the wrong choice.
