    Conyers lays out a list of reasons why he felt impeachment was impractical, and describes in detail what he considers the negative fallout from a failed impeachment process.

    OTOH, the failure to pursue impeachment has its own problems and has resulted in many of the negative consequences that Conyers described.

    Which is worse: bush/cheney claiming vindication because a formal impeachment process failed, or bush/cheney claiming vindication because congress never even pursued this option?

    It seems to me, either way you end up in the same place.

    And I'm sorry, but using the Clinton impeachment as a reason is just weak and spineless--there is no other way to describe it.

    I sill think the original mistake was taking impeachment "off the table" in 2006. There should at least have been aggessive investigations.

    If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible...tonight is your answer.
