The idea that you are taking liberty with Markos using the site's revenue to fund polling in New York is ridiculous.  Where were you for the past couple YEARS when this website's revenue was being used to fund polls in the primaries and general election?  Where was your objection then about how your subscription was being used?

And the premise that he's doing it just to back up his own viewpoint or some bias against Kennedy is even more ridiculous.  Where's the evidence?  You quote the diary written by kos about the polling for possible appointments.  Nothing in that diary supports ANYTHING you have accused him of.  The only proof you have that kos is prejudiced is your own damn opinion.

If it were funding push polling against Kennedy, you might have a case.  But if you're going to throw around accusations when you have absolutely no proof except your own hunches, I sure hope more people besides myself are willing to hold you to task.

However, it is just as uncomfortable as having Scotty Rasmussen write or host multiple articles on the evils of the crap Democrats of the day and then post his poll results and claim they are fair. According to they ain't bad, but it creates bias issues. How about Zogby releasing polls to Drudge, just to make news, just to push a narrative. I don't necessarily think that the diarist's thinking on this is any more or less reasonable or rational than our own thinking about polls that appear on sites we know or feel to be biased.

I'm not saying Kos is equal to or even in the same ballpark as the entities I used as an example, but it's hard to hold the high ground when you appear to be playing the same games as the other side. DINO and RINO appear on both sides, we hate the other but sometimes it seems we hate our own more. Appearances suck, and too many people with huge agendas are too ready to pounce.

...are presented with complete transparency, which is something that Rasmussen and Zogby don't do (or any other polling outfits that I know of).

I lived and died by those polls. I'm not suggesting shenanigans.

The problem is when you load up your page with how much this thing you're polling sucks, it looks crappy. It just does. It's the same reason the R2K poll for DKos got no love outside of 538. It's a liberal poll, right?  Now it's a liberal "We h8 Caroline poll", we want a scrapper or a seat-warmer poll.

Look, I don't believe this, I'm only pointing out that it looks bad in the old IOKIYAR way. I'm not dogging Kos or his wonderful polls.

          I'm also not concerned. :D

why? There is no "race", no election going on.  But you already know that.

So, basically, this is a popularity poll.  Caroline gets trashed - numbers go down.  Andrew stays behind the scenes and whines - numbers don't get affected.

If this wasn't so amusing..."lies, damned lies, and statistics" - Mark Twain.

          Nuff said.

            ...polling it.

And I'm not sure why you're assuming she will be "trashed."

by kos. Funny, PPP has an interesting post that says the following about the recent Quinnipac and PPP polls:

They also found that a plurality of voters in the state prefer Cuomo over Kennedy for a potential appointment, 31-24. That is considerably narrower than the 58-27 margin we found in support of Cuomo, but Quinnipiac also provided a lot more response options than we did; we only asked about the two most publicly discussed candidates. It is perhaps not a coincidence that the actual number we found for Kennedy was almost identical to theirs- I think the high level of support we found for Cuomo may have been as much anti-Kennedy as it was pro-Cuomo

Didn't see that in kos' post.

the people of New York should be asked whether they WANT Caroline Kennedy as their Senator.

Obviously you would prefer they not even be asked to express an opinion.  I dont get it.
