"... impeachment is off the table" proclamation.

NO. One. be it senator, representative, SCOTUS justice or even the POTUS him/herself has the power to arbitrarily (or by consensus) take any function, due process (or, in this case, remedy) contained within the U.S. Constitution "off the table."

By doing so, Pelosi, herself, has taken an unconstitutional path. She is complicit - a co-conspirator if you will - to the crimes of the Bush crime family.

    •  Then why didn't people do it anyway (0+ / 0-)

I'm sorry but this isn't all on Pelosi. You said she didn't have the power to do that so why didn't other people do it despite what she said. You can't blame the whole thing on her, it doesn't work.

And I don't agree that saying no to impeachment makes one part of the Bush crime family either. I don't like her, but I think calling her a member of the Bush crime family is a bit extreme. If you have some proof that she seriously conspired with Bush then please let me know and then you can call her a member of the Bush crime family.

Look, fos, congress IS in fact charged with providing a check against a corrupt executive-- THAT is their job. they didn't do it and the consequences of congress not doing their job are still being played out and may yet lead to a larger disaster.

Pelosi IS the Speaker of the House, correct? If I was a weak member of congress, as many of them are, I certainly wouldn't be going against the decree of the Speaker, i.e. "impeachment is off the table".

Kucinich? seems to me he's being pursuing impeachment for some time now-- and look at ALL the support he got from his fellow members.
