  •  That shouldn't effect most of Bush's regs. (3+ / 0-)

Bush made a concerted effort to get his regs done and finished by today.

    •  If it hasn't hit the register yet (14+ / 0-)

      It's covered in this.

This is just the start of the swamp draining we will witness over the next few months.

There will need to be many things overturned by Congress as well.

But sadly, many fixes will require new rulemaking, which can take a year.

      Bush was a real fucker.

to the formalities to get his regs complete.  I assume they didn't just forget about the need to publish.

        •  Ther was a memo from Bolton (13+ / 0-)

urging that things get wrapped up and finalized before Nov. 1, as many rules have a 60-day escape clause...  BUT there are some important changes that have not yet been finalized (i.e. published in the FedReg) yet.  Those will now be suspended pending further review.  A lot of damage has already been done, but some can still be undone by this and we shouldn't shit on that.

          •  Also some w highly foreshortened comment periods (0+ / 0-)

with a hugh and cry [sp] raised, that was of course ignored

[as, of course, were all of the comments written in any case]

The comments invariably would run sumthing such as 85 percent opposed - or higher; and generally had the result was invariable no effect at all [except in the case of removing availability of some extraction leases next to Old Faithful or some other notable locale]

cannot recall which rules got the 'short' comment treatment - was it

the reinsertion of snowmobiles in Yosemite rule?

            the concealed weapons rule?

            the leases-in-our-natl forests rule?

the 'kill all wolves not in the state covered by the recent USSC prohibition' rule?

there are so many horrible rules instituted since last summer that which one[s] got the 'foreshortened comment period' treatment escape me
