I didn't make that argument. Your reading it that way speaks to your thinking rather than mine.
Of course the actions of the Bush cabal do not represent all members of the Republican Party, except as to how they continue to support his actions in light of the evidence of his criminality.
However, today we hear the Senate Republicans are holding up the Eric Holder confirmation because they are afraid he may prosecute those who tortured detainees/captives/prisoners, because they thought they had cover of a legal opinion from the Bush administration. If the Republicans are for the rule of law, let the DOJ under Holder investigate. If they are found guilty so be it. If they are found not guilty, so be it. But to use the argument that they did it under the theory that the administration told them it was okay is flimsy. It didn't work at Nuremberg, neither should it work now.
    Also, the quote:
"Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their Party."
was written by a Republican, for the Republican Party. They have consistently shown a propensity for party over country.

Even Barry Goldwater's march to the White House to request the resignation of Nixon was to protect the party. If he had been more concerned about the rule of law and the Constitution he would have let him be impeached as an example to all future generations that criminal conduct would not be tolerated, not matter which party.
