I was a moderator on a popular forum and had access to everyone that was logged on at any time.  Although they web as we know it wouldn't function without them I always thought the spiders were creepy.

If you don't know, sites like Google send out spiders that crawl the web and look at what is going on.  They download and save posts for instance.  That's how browsers get the information that you search for.  They keep statistics on site use.  For fun go to http://alexa.com and type in any website you are interested like Daily Kos for instance and look at all the statistics we put up.

They can track you back to your ISP.  Well, anyone can do that if they have your IP Address.  Once they have your ISP and the time you were on, they can download what you were doing.  That's how they caught Bernie Ward, the radio talk show host in SF, for viewing and sending child porn.

Big brother is watching.  Do you remember that in 1984 the TV set had a built in camera. Are you staring into a web-cam right now?  Is it turned off?  Do you know for sure it is?

Your computer can be controlled remotely by spy-ware you know.  There is a reason it's called spy-ware. Did you know that they can insert a keyboard logger into your system that reads every keystroke you make? I've never heard of spy-ware that can turn your web-cam on without you knowing it but it seems possible to me.

Do you get almost constant up-date notices from Microshaft and others?  Of course you do.  Do you really know what they contain.  Of course you don't.

Big Brother is watching and he isn't going away.  I agree.  Forth Amendment, what 4th amendment?
