  •  Secret Society of Super Villains? (7+ / 0-)

You'd think Guantanamo is filled with Lex Luthor and his villainous cohorts. Can't we be done with the ridiculous republican bogeyman mad genius killer fiction already? Who knew a couple hundred bearded guys in caves could threaten the existence of the most prosperous nation on Earth.

More truthfully its filled with a bunch of unlikely bastards nabbed by bounty hunters and a few real terrorists but mostly the former...

      •  Even "real terrorists" aren't supervillains (5+ / 0-)

In the 1980s Reagan and Bush the Elder brought us Carlos the Jackal as the supervillain. and then Iran. Bush the Lesser has given us bin Laden and al Qaeda.

These are just men who use violence. The only reason they are successful is because they spend years and years to do a single thing. And really, the whole point of terror is to affect society and the way people go through life.

Thanks to the dumb ass republicans bin Laden and his ilk got more than they'd ever have hoped for. Assuming, of course, that it hasn't been some elaborate set-up.
