  •  yes, Dburn, I garee with everything . . . (3+ / 0-)

you say, but I can't do this alone.

People need to shriek bloody murder at their representatives.

Everyone who left a comment in this diary should, as I've done, contact your Congressional reps via phone or email.  Even if you've contacted them before.

    •  They don't care Eve (0+ / 0-)

Some of the newer faces may care but the ones that will vote a plan down are the ones that have gotten rich off of public service.

We can do a 5 million person walk on Washington with pitchforks or iGuillotines ( Portable lightweight, self-cleaning, self-sharpening blade, optional-head shredder attachment, iPod Dock, Speakers by Bose, can be operated remotely with iPhone, iVideo camera records all the action for immediate upload to YouTube with a 4G network card- Steve's last gift to us)

      OR

We have to get a Lobbying organization as powerful as AIPAC and the NRA combined. My preference is that Steve Jobs gives us the iGuillotine, but since this is a progressive site, we're just gonna have to bribe the suckers.

      In the mean time...

I just got back from a meeting with a Health Insurance Rep. If you pay 15% over the premium you choose, no price increases for three years. Not only that they have a better record than most on Claims.

I asked him about a lot of the stuff you have written about and I've also done some research, them seem to be way above average compared to Humana or United Health. The policy had a in network 50% discount on Dental - That would save me $3500 for the work I need done, They give you a list of places for eyeglasses with a 50% discount there, Prescription Plans with NO TIER 4, and the usual medical stuff. Premium for me is $300 a month with a $3500 deductible. But they have a accident rider. If you are treated for any kind of accident they pay 100%. If I went 80/20 with a $5000 dollar deductible, it's $211 with three years protection. Total out of pocket would be $7000.

The Name of the company is American Republic. If they aren't bullshitting me, See if they are in NY. You said you were paying $10,000 a year with a $2500 deductible. I brought a freind with me who's wife has Diabetes ( Insulin shot kind) and his quote was $5000 a year under what he currently pays with price protection. He was getting double digit increases every 6 months. The next increase is almost due which would put him over 20G a year.  Plus his wife was never covered for Diabetes. They pay half the Insulin and all the supplies under the new plan. With the the old one, they paid for everything.  They also have a Tier 4 plan written in on the old policy ( goniffs) .

      Worth a shot.
