and it must be sooner rather than later. It's easy to sit back and watch the slow change in demographics and rest on the fact that eventually Arizona will be more centrist or liberal.

The proposed cuts to education are intolerable.  This party needs to become a pit bull in letting the state legislature and the new governor know that there will be hell to pay politically for their actions.

This party must use every tool at their disposal to cut these cretins off at the knees.  Our best tactic is the use of citizen's initiative and the legal system.  Nothing scares the Arizona legislature more than the initiative process.

Then back it all up with a huge funding drive to boost the coffers of the Arizona Democratic Party.

This one's going to be tougher than electing Obama.

Oh, CA - almost as hard as turning the entire US Navy in formation...

I think of the Blue Angels and how well they can fly in formation - Arizona and other smaller states can make these changes...

But for CA - I feel like the navy is sinking... as it tries to change direction.

...I work with some great, fabulous progressives in CA and there's much that is happening. I'd point you to It's ground zero for the progressive community in CA. The place to be. Join the campaign and you'll not regret it.

Disclaimer: While I am a top-level adviser to Courage Campaign (one of several advisors), it's non-paid volunteer work.

        •  I'll check it out... (0+ / 0-)

mostly I've seen its appeals for cash and appeals for signatures - not too persuasive.

I'm involved locally in my Dem Club - but the club is getting older and older and less and less effective and energetic.

Many calls on our time - and not much action, unfortunately.

Getting past the 2/3 rule and Prop 13 constraints seem impossible - this is a minority rule state unfortunately... too big a vessel to turn.

The initiative process is great...that's what got AZ a nice constitutional ban on same sex marriage on the second try, with assistance from a corrupt wingnut legislature. They're not afraid of it. Quite the reverse.

aren't the ones initiating the legislation.  Why let them be the only ones utilizing it?
