    It seems to me that it is pretty easy to drown or destroy something. It is much harder to build up something else to replace it.

    Case in point: Ignoring our system of Justice and its attendant regulations at Guantanamo Bay. Now, it seems to have occured to some bright minds out there that there might be a good reason to have regulations in place safeguarding the collection and the storage of evidence in a criminal case. There might even be a good reason not to allow hearsay as evidence.

      like how they were trying to do away with/cut funding to NOAA because someone or some friend of someone wanted to make $$ on weather.com.

      i'm sure you can come up with many more examples.
