    Someone above asked why the FDA or whoever weren't doing anything when there were deaths and I remembered Molly Ivins writing about some hearing on the big E. coli thing and whatever Bushie was in charge sneering something like "Everyone keeps saying people are dying but where are the bodies?" while the mother of a child who'd died from e. coli contaminated beef sat there in the hearing room.

    Ivins also wrote about how the Bush administration was hamstringing the inspectors---threatening them with punishment for closing down any production lines they believes were contaminated.

    Extremely scary stuff and I hope to hell the Obama administration can turn this stuff around FAST!
