This is somewhat important.  And as far as anything it may cost Citigroup, Democrats should just tell them to take it out of the top executives' salaries.  (As others have suggested here.)

For about 20 years now, Democrats have been unpatriotic because they oppose a flag-burning amendment and don't always wear flag pints on their suit jackets.

    Turnabout is fair play.

Besides, this kind of thing is ultimately good for Citigroup, and for big business in general.  If they don't start to understand the new environment, they're going to be chased by peasants with pitchforks.

Not even I want that to happen.

salaries, but my point stands don't just fix it to grand stand which I agree sends the right message but if losing a lot more money is the solution, I don't see the point. Call me 'being financially practical'.

I know a lot of you just want to stick it to the 'man', well do so may cost you maybe $50 million extra to feel good. And you may be right paying that extra $50 million may be worth the price to set the right tone to Wall Street.

My point is always look at the entire picture, not just the big picture.

First of all, NO Citibank executive's time is valuable enough to justify flying on a private jet. THAT is the big picture. Beyond that, buying a new jet is always more expensive than NOT buying a new jet.

What advantage does the consumer get for the $50 price tag and for Citi Execs flying around at will and in luxury?  I am a Citibank customer...what do I get?  Will that jet insure that I get a small business loan?  Does it guarantee that I am approved for the mortgage?  How about lowing my fees that I pay for checks?

What's that?  It doesn't help me achieve any of those things?

Then fuck them.  They dont need the jet.  I would rather them spend 20MM and not get the jet than spend 50MM, jet the jet and I see no benefit from it as a customer.

stick it to the 'man'. Your entitled to your misguided opinion, because the jet travels will continue whether you like it or not.
