    is a euphemism for "people don't necessarily want these things around."

    I think instead of making special arrangements to force people to have wind turbines, we should accept that energy will be more expensive.

    I'll know we have a "crisis" that we need to do something about

    - when I no longer see people of average means leaving their cars running while they're inside convenience stores;

    - when my girlfriends stops walks inside the lobby and lets the door close after her to get our mail, instead of leaving the door ajar because she's in the way of it while she opens the mailbox, and it's too much trouble to walk all the way in first ("the furace is running, girl!");

    - when my office-building is allowed to be cooler in the winter than the temperature to which it is cooled in the summer.

    Till then, don't talk to me about new incentives for people to use more power than we need.  Let's eliminate incentives for carbon fuels and see where that gets us.  But we don't really need special incentives to wind power at this point.
