I just said this in the rant diary that is on the rec list now...

We really need to finetune and mobilize that frakkin kickass grassroots movement that got Obama (and other Dems) elected.

Ive had it with these snot nosed whining GOP brats.

(PS, Please see the rec list Health Care Diary.)

and Im taking the liberty to paste some of what SarahLee said in the Health Care Diary that is also on the rec list now:

During the week and a half before the inauguration I was peripherally involved with 3 meetings with the transition staff via work I am doing with some non-profit lobbying and service organizations.  The message we took away:

Obama wants to not only fulfill campaign promises, but to do "the right thing" on many different fronts - health care is one of them.  But there will be fights on just about all of them.

What they/he wants is for citizens to keep up the pressure and build it so he can make it happen.

We not only have to have his back - we have to be in front, clearing the streets and alleys so no one can mistake the path he has to take.

They want to see folks with agendas (like ours for Single Payer)building visible coalitions and alliances and if we have differences among ourselves, figure out how to work them out and resolved before coming to him/them.  If we can't resolve differences and get everyone on board, how do we expect him to?  Get Congress on board or enough to carry a vote.

[And if you have a proposal - be sure you can present it on one double spaced page.  :) ]

Also learned - that during the campaign and transition they've had up to 90 people dedicated just to reading and reporting on email and blogs and letters to the editor.

I was really hoping someone would post a Diary like this, thanks Tom ...

    Its showtime, people! lol.

So, today is Friday, and my kid is home sick. Im "hotlisting" a few things then I am making a mental note to self to really spend some time next week. We really need to get to work. Ramp it up.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.~Hunter

      This especially:

We not only have to have his back - we have to be in front, clearing the streets and alleys so no one can mistake the path he has to take.

at all the state Capitals on a certain day before the Senate vote on the stimulus bill? That would also get national attention -- the right wing media couldn't NOT cover it. Millions demanding real change that will positively impact Americans' lives can not be ignored.

The reason France protests and marches in the streets whenever they want change from its government is because they have experienced the power of their collective voices and use that power. That's what the Rethugs, corporate elite and powerful special interests don't want us to discover  -- they want the lies and brainwashing of the public by the Republican party (and the right wing leaning media) to keep people down, keep them uninformed, undereducated, poor, struggling and unmotivated to mount a revolt.

Well, they better start realizing that their selfish greedfest at most Americans' expense is about to go down in flames. It won't be easy or quick, but it WILL happen.

      CHANGE has come to America
