  •  I simply cannot imagine walking 50 miles (4+ / 0-)

a day, developing pain in both feet and it not being considered a worker's comp issue.

I wish you had written or visited your state representative about your situation while you were still employed.  At the least, there would have been a record of the health problems you had and your concerns about your safety and possible job loss if you filed a WC claim.  Even if your rep didn't do a damn thing, it may have protected your job and provided you with the care you needed at no cost to you at the threat of legal action.

This is simply awful.  I'm so, so sorry.

but the ped. reading is way out of line; walking 40-50 miles in ONE 12 hour event is quite an athletic accomplishment.

But the point that all of that walking contributed to PF is a valid worker's comp. issue.

When liberals saw 9-11, we wondered how we could make the country safe. When conservatives saw 9-11, they saw an investment opportunity.

Their offices are in a refurbished factory.  The company had Razors laying around in every corner to be used as transportation when you needed to go to another area of the building.  Heck, I did desk work all day and I still put the miles on.

but I've had extensive ultra marathon experience (3 finished 100 mile foot races) and I know how far 40-50 miles is.  Believe me you aren't going to get that many miles in a single work period.

Still, what happened to the diary author sucked; I just don't want the author to look bad when he/she files a complaint.

days). I walk about four miles each day. It takes about an hour and ten minutes. I walk and read at the same time, so it's not what you would call fast walking (yes, yes, it's dangerous, and yes, I do sometimes walk into mailboxes). But based on my own experience of very slow walking on hilly terrain, I don't think 40 miles in 12 hours is outrageous at all.

        •  try it (0+ / 0-)

In all honesty, try it.  It is much, much harder than you think.
