    ...in a self-directed way.  Oddly, it was in part growing up in an academic family that made me certain that I didn't want to be in a traditional college.  Ultimately I was able to determine every aspect of my curriculum, find teachers for it, and get academic credit.  Alas, the college is no longer operating...but for the past thirty years I have been able to use every single part of my college education in my profession.

      that was a great college education then... my first college education at Western Michigan U and the University of Michigan was quite interesting but not so useful in my current life.  My second bachelors degree in computer science was more practical focused on learning a trade.
