  •  When they are non-compliant and sleep deprived (3+ / 0-)

    in the 2 to 2 1/2 range, they can be quite difficult.  Especially when screaming and arching their backs in public.

    We've been using a tight schedule with lots of encouragement to take that nap and sleep in.  It has helped immensely.

    But we haven't reached the 3-4 range yet, so it could be worse there.

      just that a 2 year old is a lot smaller and lighter, and thus easier to pick up and take out of a situation.  By 3-4 they're bigger, heavier and better at arguing with you.

      Mine are 5 and 8.5 now :)

        The grandkids were fussy and challenging at 18 mos to 2 years. At four they were they exactly the same - with a mouth full of words to go with it!

        Love them dearly...they are now 9 1/2 and 12.
