    The best part about this is that release is a one way street.  Now that the information is available, it is free to flow outward and contribute to meaningful debate on important issues.

    Information wants to be free, it is sad to know that such great effort, paid for by US, is being hidden and hoarded.

    BTW, help me reconcile these two statements...

    and...

    "Members of Congress are free to selectively release CRS reports to the public but are only motivated to do so when they feel the results would assist them politically."

    What is stopping "Open government lawmakers such as Senators John McCain (R-Arizona) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vermont" from "selectively releasing" 100% of the reports the same day they receive them?
