      a budget in California. This effectively means that 1/3 plus one vote in the legislature has way too much control over the process - and that 1/3 is composed of the wacky Republicans that remain in office. Whatever happened to representative democracy?

        Instead we get tyranny of the minority the two-thirds rule, legislative term limits, and a population that wants social services but doesn't want to pay for 'em.

          if there were some way to put it into Federal receivership as a condition of getting bailout money. Making the happy assumption that there will be any after it comes out of conference.
