...I confirmed that I have issues after an econ diary performance that was too far even by my standards.

pocket, but the old saying about misery loving company:  you are not alone.  Have you talked to anybody about your feelings?  Parents? Other family or friends?  Please do.  Sometimes just having somebody to commiserate with can help.  Sometimes the person you talk with can provide more than just a willing ear or shoulder to lean on.  You never know unless you talk to them.

I'll be thinking about you Mister Gloom, hoping that things get better for you.  Please hang in there.

    •  Retail can be very rewarding-spent a career in it (0+ / 0-)

Started out as a minimum wage clerk; and moved on from there.

ANY job is what you make of it ----there is no free lunch; and never was.

Good luck in your search.  (I'll ignore your user ID)

      •  Its not anymore (0+ / 0-)

Anyone who's worked retail today will tell you that its the equivalent of getting kicked in the balls fifty times.  Also, starting in the 90s, we've ghettoized occupations, retail and accounting clerk positions among them.  ONce you take them you'll never be allowed to move up (HR calls it "shit jobbing" and they're pleased as can be by it since it cuts their staffing work 75% since they now automatically discount a huge number of resumes without even thinking about it).  Its funny you claim there's no free lunch considering that the overwhelming number of people I went to high school and college got professional class jobs immediately after graduation and now merely need to be carried along by prior experience.  They've never had to muck by the time their 30, they already have everything I'd ever need out of life already while still in their physical prime (fact:  You inevitably physically decline after 30, I seem to recall hearing that even exercise doesn't work at it only has something like 40% effectiveness by the time your 40).
