    one thousand years from now:

    On July 20, 1969, a man placed a US flag on the moon.

    The average person may not completely understand Iraq or Vietnam or slavery or universal health care.  But after everything else is forgotten or ignored, they will understand immediately the significance that somebody walked on the moon.

    I don't think we will ever colonize the moon.  I'm sad about that.  In fact, I suspect the human race will never send another man to the moon.

    The question I have is, will they believe it really happened?
