    As for more babies not being a problem, I think 9 billion people on the planet - that's the figure for 2050 if demographers are right - is a big f'n problem if you happen to be one of the other large mammals, a rain forest or sea life. And current generations may well look back on the idea of a one-baby rule as a gentle approach compared with the draconian measures that will be required if people don't get a clue about where we're headed.

    Anti-baby? No. But we need to get a grip on our genetic imperative to cover the planet with our species at the expense of other living things on the planet, not to mention its atmosophere and other resources.

    If you develop a star-drive, then get back to me with the "mo babies" are never a bad thing theme.
