  •  Media came before Obama. (0+ / 0-)

My comment explained both the higher ratings and the lower ratings.

    •  No, it didn't (0+ / 0-)

The fact that Congress has a nice history of behaving like rabid coyotes in the midst of small house pets while Obama has been Presidential explains it.

Your comment attempts to excuse, not explain.

Free speech? Yeah, I've heard of that. Have you?

      •  I am not excusing their bad performance. (0+ / 0-)

As I was primarily commenting on low info voters...please read my original comment.

local news hardly covers congress, rarely if ever covering debate on the floor.

Obama had a 800 million dollar campaign behind him and he basically has hours of face time on cable news.

Performance has been low by each of them in my opinion.

I also think that the presidency always has higher number than the house.

I mean wasn't the house getting higher rating than W last year. House 13% app to Bushes 21% app.

        Polling simply favors the presidency.

The presidency has multiple advantages to the house because it has a unified voice that doesn't need to get caught up in procedure.

So while their may be explanations of why the house did or did not pass this or that bill, and for most part the American people just want it done and decided but not debated. Obvious advantage to the White house with that - which ties into the WH speaking with one voice.

So we disagree. I think it is more complex.

        •  I can live with that. (0+ / 0-)

Don't forget that Congress got a pile of coverage during the Bush administration, and the Democratic leadership has been the Democratic leadership for the last two years.

For that matter, the Speaker of the House commands more than a little coverage herself.

Which, IMHO, is part of her problem.
We've seen her and a lot of us don't like her.
