      at least in terms of Obama's reason for filing this appeal, because of what the consequences of having it granted would mean. He was referring to Jeppesen, but I assume it would apply to this as well. At most, Obama ordered this appeal because he felt that he had no choice being such a new president and not wanting to go up against the M-I establishment this soon (which Cheney's presence on the other side of the Potomac makes abundantly clear that it does not want him to do), and hoping that the court rules against him. Kind of a "coded message with blinking eyes by POW while under forced TV confession". But even that's kind of straining credulity.

      In any case, whatever Obama's reasons and thinking, the court did the right thing today, and hopefully will continue to do so. Walker has been consistently rejecting these rediculous and dangerous imperial presidency assertions of power.
