    I pick up shifts at a local restaurant, and lately, we've had envelopes passed around for various things. One for a co-worker who had a bad month and couldn't afford to buy her son a birthday present, one for a co-worker who had a walkout and couldn't afford to pay for that and keep his electricity turned on. One for a co-worker who had unexpected hospital bills.

    Funny thing is, no one there makes much money but we always raise the full amount needed.
