    when we arm the right wing militarists and fundies for decades, and undermine any secular or moderate democratic regime for the perpetual great game whose rationalizations shift with the decades?

    pakistan has a modern history, and the US has been involved in much of it. pretending like it doesn't exist is driving us to make the same mistake over and over again as a solution to the problems our previous solutions helped create.

      The US chose to align itself with Pakistan and arm the string of military dictators, puppet governments and fundies rather than foster democracy.
      They could have talked to India and Iran from the beginning but chose not to in the cold-war theatrics.
