The Marist poll on January 27 showed a pretty close contest:

    Pataki          42 percent
    Gillibrand   44 percent
    Undecided 14 percent

      She kicks Peter King's ass.

But I think that all comes down to the name recognition issue.

      Time will tell.

      •  Why give up a House seat? (0+ / 0-)

To possibly lose a Senate seat?

        •  I'm not quite as pessimistic as you are. (1+ / 0-)

I think that we have an excellent chance of holding on to the NY-20th seat.

I also think that we have great likelihood of keeping the Senate seat in 2010 and 2012.

In my opinion, the Gillibrand thing is all said and done. I'm not going to look back and keep asking why. I'm going to try to keep those seats. And there's lots of work to be done in order to accomplish that. I trust that you are working toward that end also?
