As chairman of the RNC, Steele's job is to line up donations and fundraise for the next election cycle. Given his performance so far, given the disastrous state of the republican brand right now, you can see why at the last second everybody bailed and nobody wanted the job and Steele was unlucky enough to catch the toxic corsage.

Every day's another chance to stick it to The Man. - dls.

one might argue that he was attempting to gather many of his folks into the Republ fold by talking on interview shows - without going over the Wingnut cliff.

Even though I found Steele supremely unimpressive - and in particular, fairly disgusting for suggesting to withold funds from anyone who dared compromise with Obama - the fact [sad tho it is] is that he was doing this 'work' for the party.

But crossing Rush forced him off the cliff.

So failure to get administratively organized will be used as a false raisone d'etr [sorry for spelling] for racist Republicans to dump Steele.

We will restore science to its rightful place....We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil .... All this we can do. And all this we will do.
