      Yes, the Snake River ends at the Columbia, turning northward from Idaho at Farewell Bend, and the Salmon River runs north, meeting up with the Clearwater River, where they both join the mighty Columbia. When I was a child, we oftentimes drove to Celilo Falls to watch the natives fishing off the big rocks. Sadly, the Columbia is now big but nothing more than backwaters from all the dams, until you get below Bonneville. Then the Willamette River north of Portland, joins the Columbia, on to the Pacific.
