  •  My son has asthma (4+ / 0-)

He didn't get it right away (afaik) but by the time he was about 10 or so, he had what looked to me to be bronchitis.  He had all the symptoms I used to get when I was diagnosed with bronchitis (annually, sometimes twice a year).  I took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with asthma.

He really only suffers in the spring (just like me) when his allergies kick up. He has a variety of medication he starts taking every March/April and can pretty much give up some time in June.

Asthma is definitely on the uptick.  When I was in school I knew one kid with an inhaler.  Now, when friends come over, there are sometimes three or four inhalers on the counter and I can't tell whose is whose.  I know they aren't supposed to use each others inhalers (BAD teenagers!) but I catch them doing it all the time because they forget theirs at home.

There are bagels in the fridge
