    While there is increasing evidence between PM2.5 (particles under 2.5 microns in size) and cardiopulmonary impacts, asthma is a more difficult issue.  Many people suffer chronic asthma with only minor insults increasing their suffering.  Hospital admissions for asthma are almost irrelevant since those are critical asthma events and the average person suffers far more days than that and may never go to hospital

    So I had an idea for NASA once.  Build an inhaler with a transmitter chip.  Every time someone uses the inhaler, it records the gps position and a count.  From this you would know where and why people are having attacks.

    Yes, but it can't be done.  Why?  HIPPA.  So someone please find a workaround.  We need to really understand the conditions that trigger even mild cases of chronic asthma.

      and the purchasing of the "chipped" inhalers voluntary (although that could make the sample somewhat less representative).
