  •  I would love to know where trust for the media (15+ / 0-)

ranks on that list.  Although, since the media is essentially the voice of republican politicians, I guess it's easy enough to see how they stand.

If you've got time to comment here, you've got time to email a Letter to the Editor and counteract republican framing of issues. DO IT!

    •  CNN didn't improve it with this poll (8+ / 0-)

Was listening to them break this poll last night.  They spun it as a problem for Obama, using some argument I never did understand.  People's trust "didn't square" in their minds, so they were trying to invalidate the plain findings of their own poll.

      Tools.

Dear Republicans: You can't repeat a lie enough to make it true.

so they tried to spin this poll as bad news for Obama?

      •  I noticed something very (3+ / 0-)

troubling with MSNBC yesterday.  Norah O'Donnell totally schooled a Republican stategist (John?) after he had "ranted and raved" about all of the "pork" in the stimulus bill at about 1:30 p.m. and he couldn't come up with one example.  Then, before 4:00 p.m. she was blaming Obama for the tanking stock market.  Did one of her corporate paylords reign her in?

        •  She goes back and forth. I think the stock (0+ / 0-)

market part was her, not pressure. She has noted that every time one of his big packages is announced or passes the market drops. Well true enough. It's never the only thing that goes on that day but it is true.

At least she does sometimes question stupid things people say to them. So does Schuster. The rest rarely do...
It's amazing Obama polls as well as he does because the press is doing such a stupid job. Like about people who have "done the right thing" saving "irresponsible homeowners". I've been hearing how he has to explain why we would do that because people are rightly upset...Did any of them hear Obama's speech and read the plan?
In his speech he made a point of talking about the plan being for hard working homeowners who have done the right thing and explained the circumstances they might be caught up in and also explained how we all lose when there are foreclosures...and who they would not help.

He addressed every complaint before they were made...but they can't look into that or play parts of that, they just have to keep replaying Mr crazy yelling finance guy.

Or this stupid "He has to quit being all negative and say something positive, offer some hope" said in various ways over and over again. And it's not disputed...people might say well he is being honest or he will do that now that we complained, but they don't dispute it.

Well one reporter should lose her job. Savannah Guthrie on MSNBC was asked if he might try to say something more hopeful tonight and she gave an unbelievable answer. She said he would but he has been doing it in all of the speeches she has heard. She said something like he is honest about the problem and that it won't be quick or easy but always says how we have faced more than this and assured us we will get through this together stronger than ever...
How dare she! She obviously listened to his speeches and stated facts. Are they allowed to do that, state the obvious that anyone who has been paying attention would know? Dangerous precedent.
They use to love ganging up on Bill Clinton...after he said he wished Obama would offer some hope or faith in this why didn't they try to diss Bill by playing clip after clip of Obama expressing his faith and hope in every speech.

Oh well, I am just still managing to be surprised at the lazy press.

    •  Speaking of trust, I just pulled out a dollar (3+ / 0-)

bill to check how secure it is.

Whew... I was relieved. It still says "In God We Trust".  I'm sure that's a reflection of the nation's collective sentiment, but I still wonder "Whose God?".
