    When I was the same age, the first Gulf War was raging.  My classmates (at a private girl's school with uniforms) all wore yellow ribbons in their hair.  I wore black.  

    I got a lot of crap from my classmates over my actions, but the administration was 100% supportive.  Even the ones who clearly disagreed with my feelings on the war.  I doubt that would have been the case without the work you and others did two decades earlier.
