  •  MsB. Where do you stand ? (6+ / 0-)

Where do you stand on : Investigating the Bush Admin. for Torture, Causing of Death By Torture, War Crimes, Warrantless Wiretapping, Violating International Treaties, and High Crimes and Misdemeanors ?

Not to be combative but we have enough Democrats that refuse to look backwards which means we will be doomed to repeat our mistakes.

I was born and raised in Col. and my Mother is still there. She has been one of your supporters for a while now and I'm sure she would like to know these answers along with the rest of us.

    •  This is a loser issue in Ohio (5+ / 0-)

and entirely peripheral to what concerns 99% of the voters. She should take a tip from Strickland's 2006 campaign and introduce (nor address) any distractive issues. Jobs, health care, jobs, education, jobs, maybe the environment. All else is noise and won't help.

      •  Yes on the environment. (6+ / 0-)

Ohio has a history of environmental issues - burning rivers, polluted lake, Fernald, Buckeye Eggs.

        •  That makes as much sense as saying (0+ / 0-)

because we have had the worst job loss in the country that no candidtae can run on job creation. Sheesh.

issues have been a problem and will be a problem.

The EPA had to shut down a factory farm for polluting!  When the people who produce the food we eat can't be counted on to keep our state clean, we know we need environmental protection.

      •  What a sad indictment (6+ / 0-)

when murder and torture no longer concerns 99% of the voters. Put a fork in America, it's done.

        •  I think you're being too simplistic. (3+ / 0-)

It's simply hard for the public to focus on something like that when their primary concern is whether they will get another paycheck, if their parents will still have health care in a month, and if their children will grow up healthily and happily.

        •  If I were unemployed and allowing Bush to get off (0+ / 0-)

would get me a job, there wouldn't be much of a question.  That said, it is disappointing that the electorate makes us make this choice.

First off let me thank you Secretary Brunner for giving us an honest 2008 Presidential election in Ohio.

It makes you wonder if the economic crash isn't in place to provide Bush cover for the torture/war crimes issue.  As bad as it sounds I put nothing past Cheney and Poppy Bush in terms of doing anything necessary to promote their criminal agenda while keeping them out of jail.

This is why Bush disgusts me so much, he took away any possible shred of trust I had in my government. He could say the sky was blue and the grass is green and I would still believe he is lying.

Anyway, I look forward to following this race in Ohio.  It would be fun to see Mean Jean Schmidt run against Secretary Brunner wouldn't it?  Maybe Mean Jean could bring in Palin and Bachmann to help her campaign and really make it a 3-Ring Circus in the Buckeye State!

        •  It's not that it's unimportant (0+ / 0-)

but it's one of those things you can't even touch until you have accumulated a sufficient amount of power. Republicans know that and chip away at things incrementally, while Democrats make contentious issues litmus tests. I'll tell you this: if you decide Jennifer isn't "pure' enough on this (or Lee, for that matter) and let Rob Portman get elected, you will set your precious cause WAY back — all the way back to the depths of the Bush-Cheney years. Ojo.
