  •  How do you propose getting more leverage then? (1+ / 0-)

Unless PAC's go away completely, then I fail to see how us being the only ones that don't have them will advance out leverage.

The crooks are leaving have left office, unprosecuted and scot-free.

    •  PAC Lobbyist vs. Grassroots Populist (0+ / 0-)

The leverage we have been using is fairly effective. Direct cardiac stimulation to the people on the streets, congressmen, senators and state government using grassroots techniques. Why distance oneself by putting up a sign for a PAC and poisoning our current success by turning to crass lobbying. The Populist message is clearly working for the Democrats so why switch gears and likely lose what we have?

No one looks at a PAC and says, "Now thats an organization I want to listen to!". They avoid, run, and hide from lobbyists. DKos and CongressMatters are voices of the Progressives. Money doesn't turn into votes or influence directly. But progressive voices and grassroots action in districts has a direct impact on a sitting politicians actions.

Just don't want to lose our way.

But I still think all those things you mention don't do enough to keep reps from liberal districts voting right-ward.

Primarying addresses it correctly and I'm just not sure the primarying can be accmplished without being organized.

But I hear your point about PACs
