  •  Funny you should bring this up (19+ / 0-)

I manage a Senior apartment building, for those 62+.

A new tenant moved in on 02/01.  One week after moving in, after increasingly bizarre behavior, this 70 year old man spent an entire Saturday night having delusional episodes, culminating in me calling the police.  He was removed for psych eval, for my safety as well as his.

After 5 days in hospital, he was released with a nice little prescription for anti-anxiety pills.  Two per day, reducing to one per day after one week.

Great.  And when the dosage was lessened, his behavior once again got more and more delusional.  Hearing voices, people coming to kill him, with him graciously confiding every little whisper from the invisible friends to me, the onsite manager.

By Saturday, his behavior was beyond sanity.  No family to call, no friends, just me, with no medical training.

I took his cell phone away, as it was "talking" to him, and planned on forcing him to go to the emergency room in the morning.  He beat me to the punch - slit his own throat with a straight razor, and nicely coming to my door at 5am to inform me he was bleeding to death.

So Vincente, you piece of slime, you think this is so fucking funny, I got news for you - it isn't.

Fuck you.  I've never asked this site to remove anyone, I've never contacted an admin - Congratulations!  Thanks to you I'm getting to do two "firsts".

    Prick.

I'm so sorry, so very, very sorry.

But I had to give the guy an eviction notice.

He now has a social worker, who called me and tried to guilt me into letting the guy stay.

I just can't do that.  My job is to keep these tenants safe - all of them - and I can't keep him safe, or the rest of the tenants if he resides here.
