  •  the team training sounds wonderful! (4+ / 0-)

Maybe I'll do a triathlon some year...

But meanwhile, I've only run my first 5K last month (at the age of 41.  Some of us are late bloomers).

My new goal is to get my pace to a 10-minute mile.  Obviously, I'm not a speed demon.

I'm sure enjoying coming out of a winter with decent wind and endurance, for the first time since college or so!

Good for you for pursuing this weirdly-appealing thing.  I think I know what you mean.

I am working on being able to run in a race period and im 42 and will be 43 this year.

Not even going to mention how long a mile takes me to run but um....a 10 minute mile for me would be great !

We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitrolic words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people-MLK

my first race (a 4 mile easy flat run), let's just say I made it possible for everyone else to say that they didn't come in dead last :)  My time was 12:45/mile -- ouch!  Five years later I did the same race at 9:12/mile.

I plan to win my division through attrition, i.e., be the only 70 year old female running!
