I got a Wii balance board and doing exercises with the Wii fit program.

Don't knock it -- I have lost 10 lbs in about five weeks.  (I need to lose a lot more.)

I ride my bike to work, but I live less than a mile from where I work and in bad weather I walk.

and find it fun, though I haven't lost any weight yet.  I've been pretty diligent about using it almost every day as well, until this past weekend when I was out of town.

It has improved my posture quite a bit, so I'm happy about that; but I would like to lose some weight too.  What does your workout(s) look like, if you don't mind my asking?  I have put my old step bench under the balance board for the stepping aerobics and that really helped with the heart rate, but have only done that a couple of times - I find the boxing more fun though probably not the best for aerobic exercise.

I'm considering buying "My Fitness Coach" for better aerobics and strength-training, even though it doesn't use the balance board.  Do you have an opinion on this program?

I also walk the dog, but it seems to aggravate a soft-tissue back pain problem I have so I don't walk as long as I would like to.

OK, I have changed my eating habits, too.  I am type II diabetic and have elevated blood sugars.  I have stopped almost all processed sugars.

What I do now on the Wii:

I like the rhythmic boxing and do it for 10 minutes almost every day. I put 1 lb. weights on my wrists. I have started jogging outside.  If not, I jog in place, the advanced jogging, or use the 10 minute step thing and bump it up to the fast pace as soon as possible.

I'm doing some of the strength things: especially the torso twists.

I do the hula hoop thing.

And, between the more aerobic stuff I'm doing some of the yoga stuff, especially the half moon pose.

I try to do close to 30 minutes.

After about 45 days, I feel better.

I used to exercise a lot more in my younger days but fell out of the habit a long time ago.

I was paying closer attention to what I do for a workout yesterday and most of it was the yoga, strength, and balance - all of which needs a lot of work.  I definitely need to up the aerobic section as I'm not doing nearly enough of that.

I also do a lot of the half-moon pose and the torso twists - they have done me a lot of good.  I have to limit the hula hoop as it makes my back hurt, but it is fun to do!

I haven't had the system for 45 days yet, I think I'm up to around 18-ish on the Fit, so I'll be patient and add more aerobic time (and weight) per workout.

I had been on the South Beach Diet and lost more than 30 pounds a few years ago (where you also stop processed sugars), but have fallen off the wagon and re-gained a lot of that weight.  I've been working towards getting back on the diet, but I don't seem to be as motivated as the first time. :-/
