    No, it's not just you--I was thinking the very same thing.

    It ties in with something I recently saw at the local grocery store--coca-cola- and grape-soda-flavored donut holes. No shit. Carbonated, too? I'd be afraid to ask.

    The junk food industry has to answer for our high rates of obesity. For its survival and profitability, this industry promotes the culture of food-as-entertainment, food-as-distraction.

    Eating "well" is partly how we contemporary Americans support the myth of abundance, in lean times.
