if Dodd wants my vote ever again he needs to get out in front of the economy in a major way and make it his own life mission to crack down as hard as hell on crooked and incompetent bankers, cut their pay, raise their taxes, and put the real crooks in jail.

Given everything I know about his record and who his biggest donors and supporters are, I don't see it happening. He's too well a trained a lapdog to nip at the hands of the Masters who feed him.

He's not working for us. Time to replace him with someone who will.

    •  you can't just replace him with (0+ / 0-)

'someone that will" You have to replace him with someone that will who can win an election, AND who is running in the election.

IOW, what's your statement got to do with Dodd v Simmons if that is your choice?

Also, this is the same Chris Dodd who was a star in the primary debates at times.

I hate to be practical, and all that, but...

should face a primary challenge by a progressive Democrat. If Dodd wins the primary and my choice is Dodd v Simmons, I'll probably vote third party.

Dodd is head of the banking committee during the greatest banking failure since the First Great Depression, perhaps the biggest in history He's either complicit, horribly incompetent, or completely irrelevant in the field of financial regulation and oversight. Period. The economy we hired him to oversee is toast.

        Why?
