Any idea what percentage of the overall ballots cast these represent?

Well, less than 4,800 out of 2.8 million votes?

      •  Thanks--missed that info--so 0.18%. Wow, (1+ / 0-)

        ...that's amazingly clean.

        •  It's actually much less that that -- about 1/3 (5+ / 0-)

The 4650 was Coleman's original election contest "universe." Now, they're talking about 1650 -- except that's a grossly inflated figure, because many of those ballots wouldn't really fit a "substantial compliance" standard. As for those they might want to fit under some prior error equal protection argument, some of those have other defects that would kick them out anyway. We're talking about 0.033% or less.

          •  You know, as much as I want to believe that (5+ / 0-)

...the election process should be "without error", as an engineer I know that such things are not possible.

So, 0.18% or 0.033%, it's an amazing thing to have been this accurate for a human endeavor.

and feel we'd match or exceed them.

              •  Not only that, but you can put Franken up against (0+ / 0-)

...any of our famous people elected to office (Reagan, the Governator) and he'd put them to shame.

                Good going, Minnesota!
