    The real question, the question that people are desperate to answer, is what is the BEST way to prevent more bloodshed. Retribution may seem to be justified, but perhaps reconciliation would be best accomplished by forging ahead and putting the past behind us.

      Please! Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion! Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who.

        Where does the investigation end, and what is it expected to accomplish? Do you only investigate the incursion and the rocket attacks, or go back to the suicide bombings, or the Israeli move into Lebanon, etc. etc. You could go back to the 1920s if you wanted to assign blame between these warring factions, there is no natural place to say "we've finished investigating - HERE are the final culprits". Why do you want the investigation, what are the hoped for results (other than prosecutions)? Will it maximize the hope for peace in the future? I don't think so, perhaps you do.
