      while they may be legal in the strictest sense, the regulations may vary from state to state. In Maryland, for example, abortion is legal up to 24 weeks, but after 20 weeks you need to have a medical indication for it. I think it can be either maternal or fetal, but I know that when I was training in OB/GYN (I'm now an internist, didn't complete the other) that was the law in this state. Other states also have medical restrictions as well. It's complicated, as you well know.
