    any other privacy protections.  Your movement is in public so that's the argument. The danger and protection I think we should have from this is data mining.  Vast sweeps of cell phone movements with the idea of finding out things like drug buying locations.  Computer models can identify patterns for just about anything.

      can stand it or for as long as I let them.

      That's very different from obtaining records from a private company to track the private movements of a private citizen . . . . .

      They could probably track my movements by my credit card activity as well; but they still need a warrant for that.

        to get the information.  I would imagine the court will let them get the info based on some minimal relationship other than probable cause though I think it should be more than "cause we say so".  There really isn't a reasonable expectation of privacy in being in public.
