at a 6 or 7. I mean I actually kind of like him. Maybe I don't know enough about him. Maybe he just comes off as a somewhat sane guy and he isn't.

But I have to say if he wants to come over to our side, I am holding a chair for him.

After what he just did on EFCA?  After what he did to Anita Hill?  You obviously don't know enough about him.

...the Patriots football team cheating by filming other teams defensive signals?

This seemed to be Spectre's signature issue last year.

(And we may as well call him "Spectre" now).

      Good riddance.

We must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

    •  Spector is an opportunistic pig (1+ / 0-)

He may not be quite as ugly as the others at the Republican trough, but he's still one of them. Never forget that as junior counsel to the Warren Commission, this prick came up with the single bullet theory to help obscure and cover up numerous truths about the Kennedy assassination. His announcement on EFCA should surprise no one, though it apparently has.

So what if he sometimes takes a less strident position in the Senate than his Republican colleagues. That's like being the least stinky turd in the outhouse. He's still a turd.

I didn't realize that as we discussed Specter we needed tinfoil to discuss the JFK assassination!

Do you regard his past professional performance as irrelevant to his political future?  If so, why? Do you still accept the cockamamie single bullet theory as tenable, despite its debunking by subsequent Congressional investigation? And just what, may I ask, about raising this issue of character regarding Spector causes you to issue the pejorative "tinfoil"? Do you still buy into the single gunman theory? Why? I won't HR you for this uninvited personal attack, but it's tempting.

        •  Tin foil? (0+ / 0-)

Good lord. If there is any "theory" associated with the JFK killing, the "single bullet" one is so far fetched, he may as well have claimed a Martian zapped the President with a death ray.

And if anything has caused a whole lot of unpleasant truths to be swept under the rug, truths that expose and embarrass the powerful, that "tin foil" label is your go to culprit.

That such an accusation appears here among people who ostensibly are interested in transparency and truth in government is dis-concerting. In short, you should know better.

    •  You can't listen to him. You need to watch him. (0+ / 0-)

Specter is the classic say one thing and do another go-to guy.  He always talks up concern and caution and bipartisanship and pretends that he's going to really consider things on their merits or not be a republican lock-stepper, then he votes in lock step with republicans.  He only votes with the dems when we don't need him.  He is not a moderate by any means.
