  •  I kniw that I am only speaking of my own (8+ / 0-)

experiences here, but from talking to others it does not seem that it is unique.

I was born in Detroit in 1969 and lived (for most of those years) in Southfield. I left the state in 94 for grad school. In 99 I got my Ph.D., and in 01 finished my Post-doc. The reason I am explaining all of this is that many of my friends also followed (except for the dates) the same course. Would I, or they have moved back to Michigan? I know most of us would have. But why didn't I/we? Well, the main reason was simple: No jobs. I still have friends in MI and I visit when I can and keep up to date about MI. I miss MI and I hope for the sake of everyone it turns around but I am just not sure when and how it will.
