The way in which the industry averages what it sells was manipulated by the Bushies. There's a lot more to it than the numbers. If they have to count the trucks, have to do it honestly, there will be improvements.

And do remember, there are tens of thousands of unsold cars sitting around. So this may not be what to fuss about right now.

Thx, and you're definitely right about how Bushco fudged numbers, I just wouldn't want the car companies getting off too easy because of some high-powered lobbyist donations.

Remember that the pretty neutral and fair-seeming Obameter folks have rated 3 of Barack's promises as broken, and 6 others as compromised so far (and 20 kept -- with 480 or so thus far in the works or not yet acted upon), so it is up to us to keep an attentive eye on the govt.  The influence of money has become far too insidious over the years for one man to root out and eradicate it all it once, it would seem (despite some fantastical hopes some of us, including myself, might have had, pre-election).

So ok -- let's stay attentive and active on this, watch and see...

I'm personally watching the very closely the constitutional issues of wiretapping and personal privacy; I'll add this to my list. But right now, Obama is pushing car companies in a very different way.
