    857 pages of rules.
    That's about 3 pages of rules to digest and implement every day.  Maybe this is the best they could do without bankrupting the automakers outright.  Let's look for something larger than the 35 mpg average by model year 2020 to get passed, and push on that.  As someone said earlier, there are tens of thousands of new cars waiting to be sold already, and gas consumption is down.

    Personally, I tried to become a full-time telecommuter recently, but my boss wouldn't go for it (even though I'm already working in an office separate from the rest of my team).  I drive to work now, but will try to bike as soon as it warms up a bit.  My goal is not buy another internal combustion engine of any kind, ever.

    Consumption is not the answer.

      And hope you can stick to it..  I also plan to drive any infernal combustion machine as little as possible into the future, and that electric and PHEV cars will be out in force whenever I have to buy a next car.
