    •  I think that he will get much respect in prison (2+ / 0-)

People in prison tend not be fans of police.

I was in a half-way house with a guy who killed a cop during a chase. He was treated well and well respected.

Although, Poplawski will not have much contact with other prisoners, as he is high profile and high security. He will likely get the death penalty and remain in high security jail (limited contact with others) and prison until he is executed ten or twenty years from now.

I also have to add that the snark about prison rape is wrong. We are suppose to be progressive thinkers and joking about that issue is not appropriate.

This is a troubled individual who committed a bad, bad act. We are rooting around his online world trying to find evidence that fits our theory about the right-wing world encouraging him to act in a manner that he would not have acted without their prodding.

The clips of his friend saying he worried about
Obama coming to take his guns is the only "solid" evidence I have seen.

I am not going to say that I think this whole thread is wrong, because this is research that would never occur in the msm.

I hope that by working together on this research project will lead to other work together on productive progressive political goals.

I've been trying to avoid making too many assumptions--and I was hoping that actually finding some clips would clear this up.  Video of him talking about what he feels is coming would help us figure out the truth, but those clips have been elusive thus far.  Thanks for your concern and the reality check.

After I posted my comment I hoped my tone was not too harsh. When the clips do show up, I hope that they shed some light.

I don't think that there is going to be an answer about why he did this.

There has been much research into the Columbine killers both professional and done by conspiracy theorist that left me scratching my head and knowing that nothing in society would change as a result.

Ten years later troubled people still kill for no reason. Ten years from now troubled people will kill. The argument for gun control will not prevent troubled people from killing. More prisons will not prevent troubled people from killing, perhaps more mental health treatment is the answer.

          •  No worries, I know you meant well (0+ / 0-)

The question I really want to know the answer to is: "What happened between his mom calling the police and Poplawski firing the first round?" What happened in Poplawski's head that made him go for his gun?  Hopefully as an investigation proceeds, we'll learn more, but this is another thing we still don't know.
